Ava Rose is Here!

Well after 36 weeks and 4 days of pregnancy Ava Rose decided to grace us with her presence! It was a long few days for us as we waited her arrival. To start it off we started having contractions on Sat night and ended up at labor and delivery only to be sent home. On Monday I had my doctors appointment and the good news was I was dilated to 1cm and my cervix was thinned 40%! This was great news! So on Tuesday I had horrible contractions all day long, but they would never get regular. Poor Chloe was great, she offered to call the doctor and tell him I was in Labor! But we waited it out and I went to bed only to wake at 3:30 with the worse contractions and they were 4 mins apart. So we called the doctor and went to labor and delivery. We got there at 5:30 and I was checked at 6 only to be told I was still at 1 and 40%. I just knew they were sending me home. I got to stay because my contractions were regular. So the doctor gets there at 8 and checks me and I am 3cm and 60%! He says We are having a baby today! Those were the greatest words ever!!

So he came back and broke my water like 45 min later. After that I went through alot of HORRIBLE contractions before getting my epidural. Once I got my epidural I was able to relax :) Ava's heart rate kept dropping if I was in certain positions so they were concerned about her and she had to get an internal monitor on her scalp. But as long as I stayed on my side she was fine. From the time I got my epidural to the time I started pushing was about 4 hours. So my labor went quickly, which I was very thankful for! I started pushing at 3 for pratice and we started the real thing at 3:30. She was here at 3:45! She had the cord wrapped around her neck 2 times so that is the reason her heart beat kept dropping.

She was 5lbs 14oz and 19 1/2 inches long! She is a wonderful baby and We are all so in love with her! Chloe is soooooo happy to be a big sister and she's going to be very protective!!
